When you feel ready, again read through all the questions listed in Part 1
(reprinted below) at a leisurely pace. Don't try to think of what your answers might be. Just
see what your mind comes up with. Jot down some notes if you wish.
- What is the world? Does it really exist like I see it, or is it 'all in my head'?
- How did the world come into being?
- How did life, including human life, come about?
- What is the meaning of life, including my life? Does it have a purpose? If so, what is that
purpose?
- What kind of person do I want to be? What does it mean, for me, to be a good person? And what,
for me, is right and wrong?
- What sort of relationship do I have with myself? How should I treat myself? Am I a worthy
person? Do I value myself? Where, for me, does happiness lie?
- What happens to me when I die? Is there an afterlife? Will I ever see again the people I knew
who have died and those who will eventually die?
Hints
- From the start, and all the way through, be positive!
- Proceed at a gentle pace. Allow yourself plenty of time to think about these important
matters.
- If nothing in particular comes up at this early stage, that's fine. Imagine that just
reading the questions is like planting some seeds. Later on - whenever - thoughts will come up in your
mind like shoots sprouting from those seed you have planted.
Don't proceed to Part 3: Setting Off just yet. Let your thoughts and ideas
'incubate' first. Only then move on.
